Another week come and gone. And this week I thought I would include a list of the things Taylor does with the kids, since Father's Day is coming up. He is such a great dad! I love him so much!
*sings Gordon to sleep
*gets Ella to smile by singing and playing with her chin
*runs around the house with Gordon
*plays hide and seek
*throws Gordon up on his shoulders to make walks more exciting
*is excited when Gordon learns something new
*bjorns Ella and plays outside with Gordon every night
*99% of the time the one who wraps and gets Ella to bed
*the one who always takes Gordon to nursery
*takes Gordon with him to wash the car on Saturdays- lets him squirt the windex on the windows
There are so many things that he does for us all every day!
Gordon:
Ever since the bee sting last week, anytime he hurts himself and gets an "ouchie" he says "bee, bee, bee".
Today I was putting Ella to sleep and I look over into the other room at Gordon who had somehow gotten into the candy drawer and gotten out the baggy of York Peppermint patties. He was holding one in his hand in the process of unwrapping it when he noticed that I was watching him. He knew I was putting Ella to sleep so both of us could not talk so we communicated through our eyes. He held it up in his hand and looked over at me, first with a look of "oh great I am caught"....and then it quickly changed. He got a huge smile on his face and held the candy up even higher so that I could get a real good look at it. And then with his grin he began to nod his head as if he was trying to sell me on the idea of letting him have his candy and be on his way. I could not resist. I smiled back and motioned to him "just one" and he quickly showed me one finger in agreement coupled with a smile of success :)
I was helping Grandma Earl out in the garage and Gordon runs in and out of the house. I was going into check on him and I found him with his pants off and in the process of taking his diaper off while running into the bathroom. He is getting the concept of knowing when to get to the toliet...but then when we get there he gets shy...hopefully a break through soon.:)
One random thing I have noticed that Gordon does. He has blankets that he sleeps with and when he is getting ready to fall asleep he has to find the corner that he has made a little hole in and stick his finger in...then he can fall asleep.
Ella:
Last time we lived here Taylor stuck some pictures of us and Gordon on the bottom side of the cabinets so when I would change Gordon he had things to look at. I was changing Ella's diaper the other day (like I do many times a day) but she finally noticed that there were pictures there. She loved the one of just Gordon's big smiling face. She was fixated on it the whole time and could not stop smiling :)
Ella did it!!! This week she rolled over. Gordon saw her do it once and thought it was a game...so he rolled her over and back and over and back again and again...super cute until he got a little too excited then mommy had to monitor the force of the flipping :)
She is growing so fast. It seems like she will be transitioning into 9 month clothes here soon! I can't believe it.
