Another crazy and fun week
Gordon was going to get Ella with me from her nap. As we were going down the stairs he was going on his tip toes and saying, "shhh, quite the baby". A very considerate big brother.
Ella is getting much better at sitting up on her own. I decided to let her practice the other day. I had her sitting up on the bed so if she fell over it would be a soft landing. She would sit up for awhile and then loose focus and fall over. Gordon got a kick out of it. He thought it was a game. So he climbed up onto the bed too, sat down facing Ella and would slowly fall over when she would. They both were laughing hard.
The other night I heard Gordon whining a bit so I got out of bed to go and check on him. Usually all he needs is help finding his paci and then he goes right back to bed. on my way over to his room I noticed that the bedroom light was on. I opened the door a little to see what he was up to in the middle of the night. And as I opened the door I saw him just about to turn the light off with his paci in his mouth. I ask him did you turn on the light to find your paci. He said yes and then turned out the light and got back into bed. I could definatly get use to this!
Ella has become our little jabber-box. When she wakes up from her nap she rarely cries, she just starts talking up a storm. And when we are playing or walking around the house she just makes a ton of talking jabber noises, she really is going to be our social butterfly.
The stuffed animals around the house we often make come alive. Gordon just adores it and Ella, we have come to find, is no different. The other day I was having the stuffed gorilla talk to her and she loved it. Laughing, cooing the whole bit. Cheep and easy entertainment :)
Ella has found a new love. Her right foot big toe. She is either holding it or sucking on it. She is flexible now...but if she has any Nielsen makeup in her she will loose that real quick :)
Tonight we had our home teachers over. Gordon was so reverant. He followed them in to the room sat on the couch next to one of the brothers and folded his arms and sat there quitely. (Well for about 5 min. the he started playing with cars- but he is starting to understand that there is a quite time for certain things)
Gordon has become our little escape artist. I was putting Ella down for a nap (while Taylor was at work) and I heard the front door open. I ran upstairs to find him in the front yard down by the sidewalk and street. (YIKES) then Taylor was putting Ella to sleep (while I was gone) Taylor came up stairs to find the back door open. He ran out and saw the pool gate open and Gordon sitting on the pool steps playing (SUPER YIKES!!!) We have had a few talks with him....and we are going to have him "help" put Ella down for naps now so we can keep a close eye on him.
We feel so blessed that Gordon is okay! Their little lives are so precious and this week I realized it so much more.
