This week was fun and full of firsts
Gordon had his first day of preschool this week. And he LOVED it! He was so excited to have a "bah-pak". The first day I was there to help out so I was able to see it first hand. I can't believe that he is growing up so quickly. He is like a little sponge lately. We have been practicing our letters. He is getting very good at them. He even asks me to work on his letters in the morning. He knows very well S, W, O and hit or miss on a few others. Slowly but surely he will know them all :)
While Gordon was at school he was sitting on his carpet square sitting very quietly so the teacher of the day chose Gordon first to hang something up on the wall. The look on his face was priceless. It was as if he had just won an academy award. He looked around a little shocked and then quickly changed to excitement. He went up and hung up the picture and walked back to his carpet. As he was sitting down he looked around again at his classmates with a face of accomplishment. I wish I could have gotten it on film.
Ella also had a first this week. I decided to really get into the fact that I have a little girl, so I painted her nails. She actually sat fairly still while I did it (which was a bonus). Now all she needs to do is grow some hair so I can really doll her up :)
When Ella is a little fussy I will ask Gordon if he can get Ella a toy to make her happy. He has always been very good at this. Lately he has great at it but I have noticed that he ALWAYS gets her the same two toys. It is a minnie mouse doll and a teething toy. So as you can imagine Ella is getting slightly annoyed that it is always the same toy because she knows that the bin is full of more exciting toys. But in Gordon's defense he knows there are certain toys Ella can not play with so he is playing it safe :)
The second day of preschool the lesson was the letter A. One of Gordon's classmates name is Ava. The teacher of the day had all of these pictures up on the board that started with A. There was an airplane, alligator, apple,...you get the idea. And there was also a picture of this little girl Ava. Each child was chosen to chose a picture that they wanted to take home. One little boy chose the airplane, another something else...and Gordon chose the picture of Ava (I don't know if kids this young can have a crush...maybe he does)
Taylor had a nickname for Gordon (Pants Man) and of course he now has one for Ella. He calls her Ellanor-sita. And he likes to say it as if he is announcing a boxing match-up.
Ella had her first animal cracker this week. It was a hit. She cried when she had the last piece and it fell out of her mouth. We got a big bin from Costco :)
We love you all and are so excited that we get to see everyone soon!
