Another fun filled week. I love being a Mom! And it has been such a treat to have Taylor home at 5 every night...it is one of my favorite things to see Gordon's face when daddy walks through the door.
Gordon:
Gordon was sitting on one bar stool and I was holding Ella sitting on the one next to him. The stools are a little tall so Gordon always needs a little help getting down. He looked over at Ella and motioned he wanted to get down and he said, "help, peeze". He grabbed her hand and started sliding off the chair. I helped a little. When he got to the ground he looked up at Ella and said, "dank you".
We have always enjoyed singing songs with hand motions and the other day Gordon wanted Ella to get into it too. So he took her hands and made her do the hand motions. Gordon did a great job and Ella thought it was very entertaining.
One of Gordon's new favorite songs is "Here's a ball for baby.." I was singing it to him the other night as he was laying in bed falling asleep. He can never resist doing the hand motions along. He was but was doing them very slowly...I thought to myself, great he is almost asleep. The last line of the songs is "here's the way the baby plays peek-a-boo" He puts his blanket slowly over his eyes and I thought that is it, he is gonzo. But then he quickly pulled the blanket away and said BOO and began to laugh. What a trickster.
Gordon is getting very good at saying prayers. He usually just repeats what we say, but now he is starting to want to say them all by himself. (we are not always able to understand, but it still is super cute!)
The other night Taylor was showing Gordon a magic trick (the one where you make a coin disappear and then reappear behind the persons ear) Gordon was liking it and watched Taylor do it a few times. Then he wanted to try it for himself. He took the coin and started waving his arms and twisting them about. Then he put the coin on his head and opened his hands and said "where'd it go?"
Last night Gordon helped me cook dinner. He is a great helper. He put all of the cut veggies in the pan for me and helped me stir. Then he helped me add the spices and saute everything. It was a blast to have him helping me in the kitchen!
Ella:
This week was the week that Ella decided to get mobile. I had set her on the ottoman to run into the bedroom to get something. When I came back she had rolled on her side and was quite close to the edge. I can no longer leaver her unattended on the ottoman, bummer.
On Wednesday I thought it would be fun to get Ella in the pool with everyone else. I got her all lubed up with sun block, got the swim diaper on, her new little swim suit, and her sun hat. I took her out and just got her toes in the water and she started crying...loud and hard. Granted it was a bit chilly that day...I hope she warms up to the water soon.
Ella is really starting to respond well. If you can get her eye contact she will smile every time (even from across the room). Or if you touch her chin it is her smile button...even when she is upset she caves every time.
I know I say this every week, but I mean it every week. I love these cute kids! And we love you all very much!!!!
